About My Daily Research
Daily Research came about one day when a former paralegal and horse trainer realized that every day there was some question that caught their attention and needed more research. They found themselves scouring through google looking for information, sometimes spending hours trying to find the right information to satisfy their curiosity. Since then, they have researched dozens of topics, debunking myths and proving a surprising number of fun facts along the way.
They have loved research since they were a child, but they really started to dig deep when they were in high school when they spent their time researching the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone and debating with professors with much more experience whether or not wolves should be reintroduced to the Adirondacks in NY (spoiler alert: they should not be reintroduced there). From there they headed to college and just... well... they just kept going, following their curiosity into degrees in US History, Theater & Dance, Library Science, Cultural Heritage Preservation and Native American Studies. Along the way they took a brief detour into masters programs in Early American History and Special Education, racking up what they like to refer to as "half-masters". All of this is to say, if you look at the programs they went into, they are all pretty research heavy and only served to fuel their need to find answers.
Often times the process kicks off with a simple "what if?" For instance, the most recent topic of Lake Michigan Sea Pancakes was brought about when the author asked a few friends if they had any interesting topics to dig into and the response was "check out the Lake Michigan Sea Pancakes". The rest is history. Suddenly they had to know "could Lake Michigan really be home to pancake stingrays?". There's a lot of information out there to look at, so stay tuned as we keep following the facts to determine if there are stingrays in Lake Michigan.
